While many initially viewed men’s wristwatches as a fleeting trend, Hans Wilsdorf saw their potential and founded a business dedicated to them. His breakthrough came with the creation of an 11-ligne, highly precise movement, which allowed him to bring his vision to life. As military personnel and athletes began adopting wristwatches, the public quickly embraced this convenient and stylish way of telling time.

By 1910, Rolex had achieved a significant milestone by producing the first-ever watch to earn the Swiss Certificate of Chronometric Precision, awarded by the Official Watch Rating Centre in Bienne. Just four years later, the company received a Class A precision certificate from Kew Observatory, a recognition previously reserved for marine chronometers. This certification demonstrated that Rolex could create timepieces that combined elegance with exceptional accuracy.

Rolex has continued to grow its presence, partnering with the US for a special “Rolex Roadshow” event, showcasing the brand’s Spring collection to enthusiastic collectors in key markets such as Atlanta, Las Vegas, New York City, and South Florida. The multi-day, invitation-only events were hosted in newly renovated boutiques at Mayors Aventura, Wynn Resort in Las Vegas, Mayors Lenox Square, and Watches of Switzerland in Soho, New York, all offering an elevated experience for guests.

In addition to its successful events, Rolex invests in traditional media, placing ads in luxury magazines and newspapers, both nationally and locally. The brand also strategically selects high-profile out-of-home advertising locations and creates engaging digital content to direct clients to its website. These marketing efforts help boost brand recognition and drive traffic to Rolex’s boutiques and showrooms.

Patek Philippe

Patek Philippe watches of Switzerland

As the last remaining family-owned independent watchmaker in Geneva, Switzerland, Patek Philippe enjoys unparalleled creative freedom. This unique position enables the brand to design, manufacture, and assemble some of the finest timepieces in the world, all while staying true to the innovative spirit of its founders, Antoine Norbert de Patek and Adrien Philippe. Patek Philippe continues to push the boundaries of watchmaking while preserving traditional craftsmanship. This commitment to innovation has led the brand to file over 100 patents.

In 2005, Patek Philippe established its Advanced Research Department, where a dedicated team of engineers explores new materials, technologies, and conceptual ideas. One notable result of this research was the launch of the Aquanaut Travel Time Ref. 5650G in 2017, a testament to the brand’s forward-thinking approach.

Patek Philippe has enjoyed a longstanding relationship with Switzerland Watches, which spans more than fifty years. We are proud to partner with Patek Philippe, offering clients in the UK and the US the opportunity to experience this extraordinary brand firsthand. Audemars Piguet

Audemars Piguet

Audemars Piguet stands out for its unique combination of traditional watchmaking craftsmanship and modern cultural influences. This blend has made its timepieces highly desirable not only among watch collectors and enthusiasts but also among globally recognized figures in music and film. The brand has earned a reputation for knowing exactly who it is and where it’s headed, solidifying its position as a true leader in the watchmaking industry.

Founded in 1875 by Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet, both of whom were skilled in creating intricate pocket watches, Audemars Piguet has always been at the cutting edge of haute horlogerie. The brand’s early innovations in complex mechanisms led to the creation of highly intricate pocket watches. By the late 1800s, Audemars Piguet had expanded its global reach with branches in London, Paris, and New York.

The brand’s trailblazing spirit continued with notable achievements such as the introduction of the first jumping-hour wristwatch in 1921, the first skeleton watch in 1934, and the direct-impulse escapement in 2006. The 2015 collaboration with Michael Schumacher resulted in the Royal Oak Concept Laptimer, a revolutionary mechanical chronograph featuring independent memory and three-column wheels. Audemars Piguet’s iconic Royal Oak, designed by Gerald Genta, became the world’s first luxury sports watch.

In 2022, Audemars Piguet celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Royal Oak collection, a model that made history when it was first launched in 1972. As the first luxury watch crafted from stainless steel, it redefined the concept of a robust yet luxurious timepiece, with its integrated bracelet and octagonal bezel sparking a wave of imitations across the industry.

We are proud to partner with Audemars Piguet through a mono-brand boutique at our Mayors showroom in Lenox Square, Atlanta, Georgia, offering clients in the US the chance to experience this legendary brand first-hand.

OMEGA

OMEGA’s origins trace back to 1848, when watchmaker Louis Brandt established a small workshop in the Swiss village of La Chaux-de-Fonds. Originally named La Generale Watch Co., the company specialized in assembling pocket watches from parts sourced from local craftsmen. Louis Brandt was dedicated to creating the most precise timepieces possible. After his passing in 1879, his sons Louis-Paul and César took over the business, continuing their father’s legacy and building the foundation of what would become an iconic brand. In 1903, under Paul-Emile Brandt’s leadership, the brand was renamed OMEGA, following the success of the ‘OMEGA Calibre’ launched in 1894.

Always embracing innovation, OMEGA was quick to recognize the brilliance of the George Daniels Co-Axial escapement, patented it, and began producing watches with this groundbreaking technology in 1999. This escapement revolutionized horology, offering unparalleled stability and precision. It enabled OMEGA to pass the rigorous COSC and METAS testing, allowing the brand to market its timepieces as Master Chronometers.

OMEGA’s pursuit of accuracy and excellence has made it the official timekeeper for the Olympics since 1932. It was also a key factor in the selection of the OMEGA Speedmaster as the watch for NASA astronauts, famously becoming the first watch worn on the Moon in 1969, after enduring tests that included withstanding temperatures as low as -18ºC for four hours. OMEGA’s precision and durability have not only taken it to space but also to the deepest parts of the ocean, as part of adventurer Victor Vescovo’s mission to the Mariana Trench aboard the Limiting Factor vessel.

The brand’s unmatched reliability, accuracy, and stylish design continue to make it a favorite among watch enthusiasts worldwide. Watches of Switzerland has proudly partnered with OMEGA since the 1950s, witnessing the brand’s remarkable growth over the decades. Through digital campaigns, Watches of Switzerland has driven multichannel sales and created new opportunities, including initiatives to boost traffic to OMEGA’s new boutiques in Battersea Power Station and Canary Wharf, London.

In 2022, OMEGA opened its first mono-brand boutique in Europe, located on Biblioteksgatan in Sweden, marking a significant milestone for both OMEGA and Watches of Switzerland. The boutique launch featured large out-of-home advertising to generate local brand awareness, as well as one-on-one press appointments. The success of this launch led to the opening of another OMEGA mono-brand boutique in Copenhagen.

Watches of Switzerland has also supported OMEGA’s partnerships, including the OMEGA Bond Watch, released in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of James Bond in October 2022. We also featured new models like the Ultra Deep, Seamaster in green, and other core collections through our Calibre Podcasts, Calibre Online, and YouTube channels.

In 2022, Watches of Switzerland hosted an exclusive roadshow showcasing OMEGA’s novelties at its mono-brand boutiques. Clients were invited to explore new timepieces in a fully immersive OMEGA-branded environment, enhanced with expert presentations and luxury hospitality.

In another milestone, Watches of Switzerland’s Las Vegas boutique hosted an OMEGA event during the Concours d’Elegance at the Wynn Resort. Taking advantage of the high-profile clientele interested in luxury automobiles, the two-day event featured product showcases, a watchmaker’s support, and exclusive gifts with purchase. The event saw 14 private appointments for 26 clients and welcomed over 300 walk-ins over the weekend.

Cartier

Cartier timepieces are the epitome of luxury, style, and a distinctly chic Parisian aesthetic. Known for their unique case shapes, Roman numerals with the brand’s name often placed on the VII or X, and the signature blue cabochon on the crown, Cartier’s design codes are as iconic as the collections they create. The brand is credited with inventing one of the earliest wristwatches—the Santos, designed in 1904 by Louis Cartier for the Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont. To this day, the Santos remains one of Cartier’s most beloved collections.

Another milestone came in 1917 with the introduction of the Cartier Tank. This timepiece cemented Cartier’s reputation as a creator of beautifully designed and original watches. Its rectangular case was inspired by the Renault tanks Louis Cartier saw on the Western Front, a dark source of inspiration, yet the resulting design was an elegant and timeless piece that has evolved through the years.

Cartier has since developed a range of in-house movements, establishing itself as a leader in creative watchmaking with groundbreaking pieces like the Masse Mystérieuse, where the movement itself forms part of the winding mechanism. The rectangular case and dial have become a hallmark of the brand, lending its timepieces streamlined silhouettes and sophisticated cuts. However, in 2007, Cartier introduced the Ballon Bleu, a round watch with a crown uniquely encircled by an extension of the case that resembles the smooth curve of a balloon.

In 2021, Cartier launched significant updates, including the redesigned Cartier Santos-Dumont and the Tank Must collection, which drew inspiration from the brand’s archives. The Tank Louis Cartier collection, which includes models with steel bracelets, leather straps, and vibrant limited-edition pops of color, gained widespread attention. One standout was the exceptional Tank Must featuring an innovative SolarBeat™ movement, a photovoltaic cell powered by light that charges through the numerals on the watch’s dial.

Watches of Switzerland’ partnership with Cartier spans over 70 years, and they have their own dedicated boutique within our flagship Watches of Switzerland showroom on Regent Street in London. Cartier is also represented in 15 of our showrooms, with a growing presence online. In the US, Cartier is available in 11 of our showrooms, continuing to bring its iconic designs to watch lovers across the globe

TAG Heuer

TAG Heuer timepieces are known for their reliability, innovation, and versatility. The brand was founded in 1860 by Edouard Heuer in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, when he was just 20 years old. Initially, he made mid-range pocket watches with silver cases. However, his travels to the UK and the country’s growing passion for sports led him to see the potential link between sport and chronographs, which would inspire some of the brand’s most iconic timepieces.

Heuer became the official Olympic timekeeper in 1920 and soon after began supplying wrist chronographs to pilots and divers aiming to break records. The brand’s connection to motorsports was solidified in 1963 when Jack Heuer launched the Carrera, named after the famous Pan-American race, the Carrera Panamericana. The Carrera was a key moment in the brand’s legacy, aligning it with motorsport timing.

A commitment to precision led Heuer to partner with Büren, Dubois Dépraz, and Breitling in 1969 to develop the Calibre 11, one of the first automatic chronograph movements. This innovation was used in models like the Autavia, Carrera, and Monaco—the latter famously worn by Steve McQueen in the film Le Mans.

Even after Heuer was acquired by Techniques d’Avant Garde and rebranded as TAG Heuer, the brand maintained its deep connection to motorsport. With collaborations with iconic brands like Ferrari and Porsche, TAG Heuer continues to embrace a daring, pioneering spirit, pushing boundaries to create bold, innovative watches and chronographs. This spirit of challenging conventions ensures that TAG Heuer watches continue to deliver unmatched precision and performance.

Breitling

Breitling’s legacy of creating precision timepieces began with the development of its iconic Navitimer, a watch equipped with a slide rule for accurate in-air calculations. This innovation was born out of the brand’s supply of cockpit clocks to commercial aircraft, making it a popular choice for pilots and aviation enthusiasts. Breitling’s watches, including the Navitimer and Superocean collections, remain as essential to aviation and diving professionals as they were when they were first introduced.

Breitling has long been a leader in sustainability, implementing eco-friendly practices both in its business and its watchmaking. The brand introduced the world’s first 100% eco-friendly, foldable, and reusable watch box made from upcycled plastic bottles, reflecting its commitment to reducing environmental impact. Furthermore, Breitling is incorporating sustainable materials like ECONYL, a repurposed nylon made from waste such as fishing nets, into its watch straps as part of its dedication to a circular economy.

At Watches of Switzerland, we work closely with Breitling to amplify the impact of their key launches on a local level. This includes joint advertising support for the launches of the Superocean and Chronomat Six Nations models. One notable launch was the introduction of Lab Grown Diamonds, which was accompanied by an exclusive interview with Breitling’s Head of Sustainability, Aurelia Figueroa, on our Calibre Podcast, where she shared insights into the brand’s journey to becoming carbon neutral.

Through their ongoing digital marketing efforts, Watches of Switzerland UK has supported Breitling in driving both sales and foot traffic to our showrooms. In 2022, they partnered with Breitling to host regular client events in both the UK and US, providing bespoke experiences that strengthen the brand’s presence and promote its watch collections.

TUDOR

TUDOR wasfounded by Wilsdorf, the inventor of several key innovations in modern fine watchmaking, including wristwatch precision, waterproofness, and the self-winding mechanism. His vision was to create a watch that was technically flawless yet affordable, which led to the birth of the TUDOR brand.

Over the years, TUDOR watches have earned a reputation for their durability and value, making them a go-to choice for daring adventurers across land, air, sea, and ice. Today, the TUDOR collection features iconic models such as the Black Bay, Pelagos, 1926, and Royal. Since 2015, TUDOR has also introduced timepieces powered by mechanical Manufacture Calibres, offering a range of functions and enhanced performance.

The TUDOR Black Bay collection, in particular, continues to attract attention from both the press and collectors. One of the standout releases, the TUDOR Black Bay Fifty-Eight 925, debuted in 2021 and created a buzz due to the brand’s use of silver. This is a rare material in watchmaking because of its softness, but TUDOR developed a special silver alloy to ensure the watch’s strength and durability.

TUDOR’s appeal spans across different interests and industries, as reflected in its impressive roster of ambassadors, which includes football legend David Beckham and the renowned All Blacks rugby team

IWC Schaffhausen

IWC Schaffhausen chose its location along the Rhine River for its ability to provide hydroelectric power, a key resource for the company’s operations. The brand’s decision to combine progressive American production methods with the expertise of Swiss watchmakers was initially met with resistance in Geneva and the Jura, but it ultimately laid the foundation for IWC’s future success. The company’s reputation grew significantly after WWII, particularly due to its production of military-grade pilot’s watches, which remain highly sought after by collectors.

Today, IWC Schaffhausen is known worldwide for crafting exceptional timepieces that radiate a sense of retro sophistication, catering to those who take their watches on bold adventures. The brand has continually embraced the latest innovations in timekeeping while striving for independence by reducing its reliance on third-party movements. IWC has also been a leader in corporate responsibility, pioneering efforts to minimize its environmental and social impact. In 2018, it became the first Swiss watch brand to use Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards as a benchmark for its sustainability report. The company set ambitious goals, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 10%, cutting packaging weight and volume by 30%, improving employee well-being, and achieving gender equality in training by 2020.

IWC’s dedication to sustainability has earned it the recognition of Positive Luxury, which awarded the brand its prestigious Butterfly Award in 2014. This honor allows IWC to proudly display the award in its boutiques worldwide, inviting customers to learn more about its commitment to a sustainable future.

Vacheron Constantin

For over 260 years, Vacheron Constantin has been creating exceptional, high-end timepieces, always maintaining its commitment to craftsmanship and never giving in to the temptation of mass production. The brand has been a leader in preserving traditional watchmaking techniques, particularly through its Métiers D’arts series, which keeps rare skills alive and passes them down to future generations of watchmakers.

In recent years, Vacheron Constantin has expanded its collection with iconic models like the Overseas and the elegant, couture-inspired Égérie women’s collection. This year, the brand made an exciting move by revisiting one of its classic designs. At the Watches and Wonders fair, it unveiled the new Historiques 222 model, which pays tribute to an important chapter in the brand’s history. The 222 model originally debuted in 1977 to celebrate Vacheron Constantin’s 222nd anniversary. Its bold design represented a shift in the brand’s style, transitioning from traditional timepieces to a new era of sports-chic watches.

Panerai

The watches Panerai created, including the Luminor and Radiomir, were originally designed for military use and were not available to the public. These timepieces were classified under the Military Secrets Act, and it wasn’t until the brand was acquired by the Richemont Group in 1997 that they were launched internationally. Today, Panerai designs and manufactures its movements at its Neuchâtel Manufacture, home to the Laboratorio di Idee. The brand has built a dedicated following of passionate enthusiasts known as “Paneristi,” who are well-acquainted with the brand’s fascinating history.

In addition to its dedication to precision watchmaking, Panerai is committed to sustainability. The brand has adopted eco-friendly practices, such as using eSteel™, a recycled steel alloy, and opting for recycled packaging to minimize its environmental impact.

Watches of Switzerland Group’s partnership with Panerai continues to thrive. Together, they ’ve focused on promoting Panerai’s core collections, working on multichannel campaigns that drive traffic to both their showrooms and online platforms, ensuring optimal sales performance.

Hublot

Hublot’s innovation has always been at the forefront of luxury watchmaking, with its high-tech Manufacture based in Nyon, Switzerland, on the shores of Lake Geneva. The brand is known for pushing boundaries, blending traditional watchmaking with bold, modern ideas and exploring new materials. One of its first iconic creations featured a durable three-part yellow gold case, a sleek black dial, and, in a luxury-first move, a black rubber strap infused with a vanilla scent.

Hublot’s philosophy centers around the concept of “Fusion,” not only in combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design but also in innovating with materials. The brand has introduced Magic Gold, a scratch-resistant 18ct gold alloy, and King Gold, a proprietary rose gold shade. Hublot has also mastered vivid colored ceramics, figured out how to tint sapphire crystal for its transparent cases, and even experimented with concrete as a case material.

The brand’s boldness is exemplified in the Big Bang, launched in 2005, which became a symbol of Hublot’s Fusion concept. Over time, the Big Bang has become an iconic collection, evolving with countless color variations and designs. In 2022, Hublot made a major splash as the Official Timekeeper of the FIFA World Cup for the fourth time. This partnership allowed Hublot to elevate its brand awareness with strategic advertising campaigns across print and outdoor media, helping to drive interest and increase foot traffic to Watches of Switzerland showrooms.

Jaeger-LeCoultre

Nearly two centuries later, Jaeger-LeCoultre remains a true pioneer in the world of horology, consistently creating collections that showcase innovative mechanical complications. Nestled in the peaceful Vallée de Joux, the brand’s home is deeply connected to the breathtaking Jura Mountains, which inspire its soul and craftsmanship.

As a vertically integrated manufacturer, Jaeger-LeCoultre produces everything in-house, except for sapphire crystals and straps. This approach fosters a collaborative environment where watchmakers, engineers, designers, and artisans work together seamlessly to craft exceptional timepieces. This unified spirit has led to the creation of over 1,200 calibres since the brand’s inception, earning Jaeger-LeCoultre the endearing title of the “Watchmaker of Watchmakers.”

The brand’s collections are known for their timeless style and refined elegance. Iconic pieces include the Reverso, originally designed for polo players in the 1930s; the Master collection, which draws inspiration from designs of the 1950s; and the sporty Polaris. For Watches of Switzerland Group, the focus has been on showcasing standout models like the Reverso Tribute Duoface and the Polaris, celebrating the brand’s legacy of excellence in watchmaking.

Zenith

Founded in 1865 by the 22-year-old Georges Favre-Jacot in Le Locle, Neuchâtel, Zenith quickly made a name for itself as one of the first modern watchmakers. It was renowned for using precision machinery to create nearly interchangeable watch components in large quantities, setting a new standard for the industry. In 1969, Zenith played a key role in the race to develop the world’s first automatic chronograph, the El Primero, which is still considered one of the finest chronograph movements ever made. The movement’s survival during the quartz crisis can be attributed to the foresight of Charles Vermot, a watchmaker who, believing the movement would one day be needed again, hid the designs and tooling in the attic of the factory.

Zenith’s spirit of adventure is reflected in the legendary figures who have relied on its timepieces, from Louis Blériot’s historic flight across the English Channel in 1909 to Felix Baumgartner’s record-breaking free-fall jump from the stratosphere in 2012. Throughout these extraordinary achievements, Zenith has ensured reliable and precise timekeeping.

Some of the brand’s most iconic timepieces include the Defy collection, its flagship sports line, the retro-inspired Pilots collection, and the Chronomaster Sport. Each model is a testament to Zenith’s commitment to accuracy and creating stylish, everyday wearables. The brand is also proud to collaborate with a range of ambassadors, from actors to gymnasts and architects, who represent the adventurous spirit of Zenith. Additionally, Zenith is the official sponsor of the Extreme E electric car races.

The partnership between Watches of Switzerland and Zenith has flourished, with new initiatives and agencies strengthening their collaboration. A standout moment in their partnership was the creation of the Watches of Switzerland Exclusive Zenith Chronomaster Original El Primero Automatic, limited to just 100 pieces. This timepiece is a true representation of the El Primero collection’s dedication to precision, craftsmanship, and innovation.

Grand Seiko

In 1913, Seiko made history by producing Japan’s first wristwatch, the Laurel, and by 1924, they introduced the first “Seiko” branded watch. These milestones laid the groundwork for the creation of the first Grand Seiko in 1960. As a fully integrated watch manufacturer, with facilities across Japan’s prefectures, Grand Seiko has spent over fifty years perfecting the art of precision watchmaking. Known for their nature-inspired dials, the brand takes inspiration from elements like the texture of birch bark and the way snow settles on the mountains during Japan’s Taisetsu season, one of its 24 “sekki” or seasonal periods. The collections span a wide range, from elegant and heritage designs to sporty models.

Grand Seiko is especially celebrated for its exclusive in-house Spring Drive movement, a mechanical system paired with an electronic regulator that delivers exceptional accuracy.

Watches of Switzerland has fostered a strong relationship with Grand Seiko, including notable collaborations such as the 2020 event “The Nature of Time” held in Soho, New York. This immersive exhibition showcased the world’s largest collection of Grand Seiko watches, complete with eight educational zones that provided insights into the brand’s craftsmanship, movements, and history. One of the highlights of the event was the Grand Seiko Tōgè, a timepiece that was launched exclusively with Watches of Switzerland in 2020.

The partnership continued to thrive in 2020 with the launch of the Hotaka Peaks Spring Drive GMT Triple Time-Zone, a timepiece inspired by the towering Hotaka Mountains near the Grand Seiko Shinshu Watch Studio. This model reinforced the brand’s commitment to precision and nature-inspired design.

Longines

In its early years, Longines was managed by Auguste Agassiz as a ‘comptoir,’ or trading office, similar to many others in the area. Watches were produced under the ‘établissage’ system, where watchmakers worked from home. However, in 1867, Ernest Francillon, Agassiz’s nephew and successor, revolutionized the process by consolidating all stages of production under one roof. This led to the creation of the Longines factory in Saint-Imier. From that point on, the factory grew steadily, producing timepieces that garnered international recognition.

Longines’ reputation for excellence was bolstered by numerous awards, culminating in its recognition as the brand with the most accolades in international exhibitions by 1929, after having won no less than ten Grand Prix. In 1889, Francillon patented the Longines trademark, featuring the now-iconic winged hourglass symbol. The brand also became renowned for its pioneering work in sports timekeeping, designing innovative equipment that earned it a global reputation. Over time, Longines built strong connections with the world of sports, offering its precision timing services to a wide range of prestigious events in the 20th century.

Today, Longines continues its legacy by creating timepieces grounded in the same values it has upheld throughout its history. The brand also remains committed to its role in sports timing, particularly in alpine skiing and equestrian sports. In the US, Watches of Switzerland proudly hosted the Hamptons Classic Horse Show for the second consecutive year, further cementing Longines’ strong presence in the world of competitive sports.

MB&F

Maximilian Büsser’s desire to fully express his creativity led him to leave his position at the renowned jeweler Harry Winston and establish his own brand, MB&F. With MB&F, Büsser had the freedom to explore his passion for working with the most talented independent watchmaking professionals, pushing the boundaries of horology into uncharted territory. The brand serves as a creative laboratory focused on a simple concept: assembling collectives of independent horologists to craft innovative timepieces that defy convention, represented in their Horological and Legacy Machines collections.

Büsser’s first creation, the HM1, was launched in 2007, born from collaborations with horological masters such as Eric Giroud, Laurent Besse, and Peter Speake-Marin. Each subsequent Horological Machine drew inspiration from various sources, including science fiction, supercars, aircraft, and even the animal kingdom, like the HM10 in 2020, which was inspired by a bulldog. In addition to his watchmaking ventures, Büsser partners with clockmaker L’Epée 1839 to create unique and unconventional timepieces, including the Starfleet Explorer and Destination Moon clocks.

Bovet

BOVET is a prestigious brand with a loyal following that includes kings, emperors, sheiks, diplomats, and connoisseurs of fine timepieces worldwide. As one of the few true manufactures in high watchmaking, BOVET crafts nearly every component of its timepieces in-house, including the essential parts like the hairspring and regulating organ.

BOVET 1822 continues to produce exquisite timepieces that showcase artisanal techniques such as hand-finishing, hand-engraving, and miniature painting. The brand is known for its signature designs, including the crown placed at 12 o’clock, intricately engraved movements, and innovations like the Braveheart Tourbillon, which was introduced in 2015 and is protected by six patents. Each of BOVET’s creations is a testament to their dedication to enhancing precision and reliability, blending the rich traditions of watchmaking with forward-thinking innovations.

Over the past 15 years, BOVET has earned more than 40 awards and accolades for its contributions to horology, including the prestigious Aiguille d’Or for the Récital 22 Grand Récital in 2018, as well as the Mechanical Exception Award for the Récital 26 Brainstorm Chapter Two.

One of BOVET’s most iconic collections is the Fleurier, which features 11 distinct styles characterized by round cases with the crown at 12 o’clock, paying homage to the brand’s pocket watch heritage. Many pieces within the Fleurier collection also include the patented Amadeo convertible system, allowing the watch to be worn in multiple configurations, such as a wristwatch, desk clock, or pocket watch, all without the need for tools.

The hallmark of BOVET 1822 timepieces is their exceptional finishing, whether through angling, bevelling, enamelling, guilloché work, or engraving. Alongside this craftsmanship, the brand’s technical expertise is reflected in their tourbillons, long power reserves (ranging from a minimum of five days up to 22 days), perpetual calendars, jumping hours, retrograde displays, and multiple time zone movements.

Ulysse Nardin

Ulysse Nardin has long been recognized in the maritime world for producing highly accurate marine chronometers and intricate timepieces used by over 50 navies worldwide from the late 19th century until 1950. The brand’s commitment to precision began in 1862, when it earned the Prize Medal for pocket chronometers at the International Exhibition in London. By the mid-1970s, Ulysse Nardin had accumulated over 4,300 certificates and ten gold medals for the exceptional performance of its marine chronometers.

This rich heritage continues to inspire the brand’s designs, with numerous collections paying tribute to its historic achievements. One of the most innovative developments came in 2001 with the introduction of the Freak, a watch that challenged conventional watchmaking. The Freak featured a carousel rotating every 60 minutes, allowing the movement platform to double as the minute hand, while the mainspring drum served as the hour hand. This groundbreaking timepiece also marked the first-ever use of silicon in watch movements—a material that has since become common in the industry.

Ulysse Nardin is dedicated to aligning with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. Given its deep connection to the oceans, the brand focuses on advancing scientific efforts in shark conservation and tackling marine plastic pollution. They collaborate with organizations to recycle materials like fishing nets and bottles, repurposing them into watch straps and components such as bezels. Ulysse Nardin is also a proud supporter of The Ocean Race, a global yacht race designed to raise awareness about ocean conservation and inspire positive change for the seas.

Girard-Perregaux

Jean-François Bautte began his watchmaking journey at just 19 years old in 1791 and quickly earned a reputation for creating exceptional timepieces, especially among the royal courts of Europe. His legacy was carried forward by Girard-Perregaux, a company founded in 1856 by Constant and Marie Perregaux, a husband-and-wife duo with extensive experience in the watchmaking industry. Girard-Perregaux upheld Bautte’s philosophy of mastering all horological skills in-house, making it one of the oldest and most respected watch manufactures still in operation today.

The brand’s dedication to the craft of watchmaking has remained unchanged over the years, evident in its iconic collections. One standout example is the Three Bridges collection, which features a movement held by three symmetrical bridges that support the tourbillon, barrel, and gear train for the minute and hour hands. This design made a significant impact at the Paris Universal Exhibitions, winning awards in both 1867 and 1889. Girard-Perregaux is also known for the stylish Laureato, a 1970s-inspired timepiece with an integrated bracelet, the striking Cat’s Eye with its unique elongated oval case, and the recently reintroduced Casquette, a quirky digital display watch.

Girard-Perregaux was a trailblazer in the field of electronic quartz watches, being the first Swiss manufacturer to release a commercially available quartz watch. They also played a crucial role in setting 32,768 Hz as the standard frequency for quartz watches. Each of these innovations reflects the brand’s ongoing drive to push the boundaries of watchmaking and challenge traditional designs

H. Moser & Cie.

Born into a family of watchmakers in Schaffhausen, Heinrich Moser followed in his forefathers’ footsteps, mastering the art of watchmaking. After moving to St. Petersburg, he quickly became the go-to specialist for the aristocracy, and in 1828, he founded H. Moser & Cie. in Switzerland. There, he established a factory that employed hundreds of artisans and is estimated to have produced around 500,000 watches throughout his life. These watches ranged from simple three-hand timepieces to more complex “grande complications.” Moser is also known for his contributions to the industrialization of Schaffhausen, notably building the first Swiss dam with hydro-mechanical turbines for energy production.

This entrepreneurial spirit has remained at the heart of H. Moser & Cie. as the brand has been guided by various visionary leaders throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. In the 21st century, the company continues to chart its own course, striving to innovate rather than simply recreate the past, just as Heinrich Moser did. The brand’s story begins at the turn of the 19th century with Moser, a young entrepreneur determined to forge his own path.

Today, H. Moser & Cie. is one of the few family-owned independent watchmakers left, continuing the legacy of its founder. The brand has a fully integrated manufacture, ensuring that every watch produced aligns with its values of craftsmanship and precision. From designing and producing its own mechanical movements to meticulously shaping and hardening each hairspring, H. Moser & Cie. creates timepieces that are true works of art, continuing Heinrich Moser’s pioneering spirit.

Julia Roberts Chopard's most iconic

One of Chopard’s most iconic collections is the ‘Happy’ series, which features moving diamonds and spans across both watches and jewelry. The collection has evolved over time, with variations like ‘Happy Hearts,’ ‘Happy Sport,’ and ‘Happy Diamonds.’ In 2021, Chopard appointed renowned actress Julia Roberts as the face of the campaign, believing her charm and energy perfectly embody the spirit of the brand. The success of this campaign has led to further collaborations, blending both watches and jewelry in one cohesive presentation.

Today, H. Moser & Cie. continues to uphold the legacy of its founder, Heinrich Moser. The nearly two-century-old brand remains one of the few independent, family-owned watchmakers in the world. With a fully integrated manufacture, H. Moser & Cie. ensures that each handmade timepiece stays true to the brand’s values. From crafting its own in-house mechanical movements to carefully shaping and hardening each hairspring, every watch is a masterpiece in its own right.

Chopard and H. Moser & Cie. are both available through our Watches of Switzerland US website, as well as in our showrooms at the Wynn Resort in Las Vegas and Soho, New York. Our knowledgeable teams are ready to guide clients through the history, heritage, and collections of both brands.
