About Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of The Moon
Omega’s Dark Side of the Moon was first showcased at Baselworld in 2013. It is a recent model of the famous Speedmaster Professional, the first watch to get to the Moon. After that time, it grew into its collection with many different models. The making of the Dark Side model is synonymous with that of the original Moonwatch, but it developed its path in terms of materials and technology.

One of the features that separates it from the moonwatch is the case size. It has a diameter of 44.25 mm, and it is 2 mm larger than the traditional Moonwatch. Its case material is different also. Rather than using stainless steel, Omega uses black ceramic for the Dark Side. The dial is also crafted from this hard, scratch-resistant material.
The Dark Side Moon timepiece is powered by Omega Co-Axial calibre 9300. These 9300 calibres feature a date display at 6 o’clock, unlike the classic manual 1861 movement, which is found in the Speedmaster Professional. The Speedmaster Professional has two different subdials for its minute and hour counters, while the Dark Side uses a more unique approach. It has just one subdial with two hands for both the minutes and hours at 3 o’clock.
